A group of Public Utility Jeepney (PUJ) drivers from Cebu City has asked the Mandaue City Council to issue a travel line to allow them to pass through the Mandaue Reclamation Area.

The City Council is expected to act favorably to the request of the 01K Drivers and Operators Association, according to a city councilor.

Mandaue Councilor Emiliano Rosal welcomed the development because the Mandaue city government has been looking for jeepneys to ply the Mandaue Reclamation Area.

Business and commerce have been vibrant at the Mandaue Reclamation Area after a mall, a school and several establishments have been put up there.

Rosal assured that the City Council will act favorably on the request of the 01K drivers and operators.

Wilfredo Soroņo, the president of the group, sent a letter to the Mandaue City Council, seeking the issuance of a travel line so they can apply for a new franchise at the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB). Reporter Dale G. Israel
