CEBU CITY, Philippines - The Cebu provincial government is open to coordinating with the Cebu City government on fast-tracking the processing for acquisition of the provincial lots under ordinance 93-1 occupied by city residents in different barangays (villages).During Tuesday’s 888 News Forum, Capitol consultant Rory Sepulveda said the Cebu provincial government is now processing the second phase on specific areas occupied by the city residents. He said the Capitol is coordinating with government agencies like the National Housing Authority (NHA) on the lots along with the barangays concerned. Sepulveda said the Cebu provincial government will listen to occupants who have not yet fully paid their lots. He said the Capitol won't evict those residents occupying provincial lots due to an existing memorandum of understanding with them. Acting Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama assured the Cebu provincial government that they will respect the Capitol so long as they take care of the 93-1 residents. /Correspondent Chris Ligan |
