Two of the three men who were arrested in buy bust operation were charged in court while their other companion was cleared.
The Cebu City prosecutor's office filed three counts of criminal charges against Erik Reyes, of Mandaluyong City, and John Emmanuel Sison, of President Towers, Quezon City.
Cleared was Richter Borja of Toledo City, Cebu.
The three men were arrested in a drug bust operation conducted by the operatives of the Criminal and Investigation and Detection Group in Central Visayas (CIDG-7) on Sept. 23 in the posh Ma. Luisa Estate Park in barangay Banilad, Cebu City.
Ten packs believed to contain shabu were recovered from the arrested men, the police said.
The 10 packs believed to contain shabu were worth P500,000, the police said.
The police said that SPO2 Delfin Bontuyan acted as a poseur buyer during the operation.
The police said they called up Reyes and ordered from him a shabu worth P120,000.
During the transaction, Reyes allegedly handed two packs believed to contain shabu to Bontuyan, the police said.
After handing the two packs, the police arrested Reyes and his two companions.
Police then searched the car used by the three men and recovered eight big packs of white powder believed to contain shabu.
In their affidavits, Reyes and Sison denied the accusation, saying that they just went to Cebu for a vacation.
Reyes said he went to Maria Luisa after he was invited by Greco Sanchez, son of Cebu Vice Governor Gregorio Sanchez, for a dinner in their house.
He said they parked their rented car outside Sanchez's house and left the vehicle unlocked.
When they asked permission to leave, Greco accompanied them since they were new to the place.
While on their way out of the garage, armed men blocked their path and asked them to drop on the ground.
The two said that when the police ordered them to stand up, plastic packs containing white substance were shown to them.
The two said they just rented the car and that they did not own the plastic packs. |
