THE Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Central Visayas (CIDG-7) had conducted a parallel investigation in the killing of its asset in barangay Kamputhaw, Cebu City last Wednesday.
Supt. Juanito Enguera, CIDG-7 deputy chief, confirmed that Mark “Macoy” Flores Pulvera was their asset and had given them several information that led to the arrests of suspected drug pushers.
Enguera said that if Pulvera was killed, he and the CIDG-7 operatives would have met in court today to serve a search warrant against suspected drug pushers.
Flores was shot dead by an unidentified man riding in the backseat of a motorcycle while he was sitting on a bamboo bench near his home on F. Sotto Street, barangay Kamputhaw shortly before noon Wednesday.
According to Enguera, his killing could have been because of his active participation in the campaign against illegal drugs.
“Dugay na ni siya diri nga nahimo natong asset (He's been our asset for quite awhile now),” Enguera said.
At present, the police were following several leads in investigating Pulvera's death.
SPO4 Dennis Moga of the homicide section of Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) said they were still looking for more witnesses and gathering more evidence.
The CIDG-7 and CCPO investigators would meet today at the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas to discuss the latest killing wherein a motorcycle was used.
Cebu City has ranked highest among areas in the Central Visayas where motorcycle-riding hoodlums operate.Correspondent Chito Aragon |
