FIGHT tickets to the much-anticipated December 6 bout between Oscar De la Hoya and Filipino icon Manny Pacquiao are expected to be out on Thursday, (Friday in Manila) according to a report by Philboxing.com.
Co-promoter Bob Arum, according to the report, has branded ticket demands as “terrific” and expects that tickets will be gobbled up by buyers just hours after they are made available to the public.
Arum indicated that he will “sit down with Golden Boy at the MGM in Las Vegas on Thursday (Friday RP time) and everybody grabs their tickets, so let’s see how many tickets are left.”
Arum has made it clear that his promotional outfit Top Rank wants to get at least 5,000 tickets and Golden Boy Promotions, the lead promoter of this bout, “about the same amount,” which left Arum asking himself, “I don’t know whether there will be any seats left.”
Pacquiao is expected to arrive in the United States on September 14, a day after he drops by Cebu to visit relatives and friends in Pinamungajan town, where the Pacquiaos trace their roots.
While in Pinamungajan, Pacquiao will host a boxing event along with his close buddy Rex 'Wakee" Salud, and the following night, will fly to Los Angeles to start his training.
On October 1, Pacquiao will take part in a promotional tour starting at the Statue of Liberty in New York before proceeding to Chicago, Houston and San Antonio, Texas as well as San Francisco and Los Angeles. /Correspondent Salven Lagumbay |
