Games today:
Cebu Coliseum
1 p.m. - USPF vs. CEC (Jrs.)
2:30 p.m. - USC vs. UV (Jrs.)
4:00 p.m. - DBTC vs. SWU (Srs.)
5:30 p.m. - UC vs. USPF (Srs.)

With the seedings for the no. six and seven slots already decided, the attention now turns to the battle for the fourth and fifth slots as the University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters and Southwestern University (SWU) Cobras go up against separate rivals in today’s final elimination games of the Cesafi men’s basketball tournament at the Cebu Coliseum.

SWU will go up against the Don Bosco Greywolves at 4 p.m. while UC battles the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) Panthers in the main game at 5:30 p.m.

Both squads tote identical 3-3 (win-loss) slates but should both teams prevail, the Webmasters will claim the fourth slot and will get the last twice-to-beat incentive going into the quarterfinals. This is because UC beat SWU in the elimination round.

DON BOSCO BEATS USPF

Meanwhile, the Greywolves claimed the sixth spot after beating the Panthers, 76-68, in their seniors division encounter Thursday night.

The win by Don Bosco set up a quarterfinal date with the third-ranked University of San Carlos (USC) Warriors while the Panthers will face the second-seeded University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars in the next round tomorrow.

The Greywolves turned to a timely three-pointer by reserve guard Richard Tecson down the stretch and the game-long brilliance of point guard Celso Colegado to pull off their second win in six outings.

Moncrief Rogado had 26 points in the game for the losing squad while Colegado topscored for the Greywolves with 18 points.
