The inmates of Cebu Provincial and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC) will pay tribute to peace heroes today.

Capitol Consultant on Security Byron Garcia said a new dance presentation will be performed by the inmates with the concept of promoting peace.

The inmates will dance to the tune of “I Need a Hero” by Bonnie Tyler featuring 15 globally recognized past heroes.

Byron, the elder brother of Gov. Gwen Garcia, said that international media will be present to witness the dancing prisoners.

Some personalities, who are considered heroes in their own way, will be featured.

They are Mother Teresa, Mahatma Gandhi, The Dalai Lama, Nelson Mandela, Pope John Paul II, Lady Dianna and the country's national hero, Jose Rizal.

John Lennon of the Beatles and Albert Einstein are also included.

Byron said Lennon was a peace activist who wrote the song “Imagine.”

“Einstein used the atomic bomb to balance terror to achieve peace,” said Garcia.

Garcia added that Rosa Parks is also included as the first black woman who stood up against racial discrimination.

He planned to have a back drop of the 15 heroes during the presentation.

Garcia emphasized that the presentation is not an entertainment but a program for the CPDRC inmates. Correspondent Hayde D. Quiñanola
