CEBU CITY, Philippines - Filipino superstar Manny Pacquiao yesterday took and passed with flying colors the WBC-mandated 30-day weigh-in and medical requirements needed for his March 15 showdown with WBC superfeatherweight champ Juan Manuel Marquez.

The WBC states that fighters in the superfeatherweight class should not weigh more than 140 lbs a month before the fight.

Pacquiao took the tests at the clinic of Dr. Gluckman in San Pedro, California, according to Philboxing.com's LA correspondent Ed de la Vega.

He was accompanied in the check-up by his younger brother Bobby, who is seeing action two days before his showdown with Marquez. Also with the group were trainer Boboy Fernandez, boxer Ernel Fontanilla and PR man Winchell Campos, said De la Vega.

“Walang problema sa timbang and healthwise, Manny is in excellent shape”, (there is no weight problem and he is in good health) Campos told Philboxing.com.

Pacquiao is slated to resume sparring today against his Latino sparmates.

The Wildcard Gym is off-limits to non-essential personnel, particularly kibitzers and boxing fans as the Pacman trains although fans will be allowed to see him

starting around three o’clock where they will be given a chance to rub elbows with Pacquiao, pose for some souvenir photos and get autographs. "Then Pacquiao is off to the Thai restaurant next door for some quick late lunch and then return to his condo for the much needed rest to end his day," said De la Vega. /correspondent Salven Lagumbay
