MANILA, Philippine—Japan is funding a project that would extend livelihood and capacity-building programs to Filipino women who are former migrant workers in Japan and their Japanese-Filipino children, the Japanese Embassy in Manila announced yesterday.
Japan’s Ambassador to the Philippines Makoto Katsura attended the turnover of “The Project for Building Capacities of Women and their Japanese-Filipino Children” to the Development Action for Women Network (Dawn) headed by executive director Carmelita G. Nuqui in Manila on Friday.
The project amounting to $78,795 (approximately P3.6 million) will be funded through the Japanese embassy’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP).
