MANILA, Philippines--A 38-year old businessman died Sunday morning, several hours after he was shot in the head by one of three gunmen in front of his medical supply store the other day. Benigno Medina Jr., owner of Advance Tech Medical Supply in Sta. Cruz, Manila, passed away at around 7 a.m. yesterday, due to a gunshot wound in the head at Metropolitan Hospital. SPO2 Dennis Paul Javier of the Manila Police District homicide section said Medina was attacked in front of his store on Rizal Avenue at around 11:45 a.m. Saturday. Based on witnesses’ accounts, the victim had just alighted from his van and was giving his workers’ instructions on organizing the store’s window display when three men approached him. One of them pulled out a .45 cal. pistol, shot the victim and escaped with his companions on a blue Toyota Vios without any license plates. Javier said that they were looking into two possible motives for the killing: personal grudge and business. Jeannette I. Andrade
