DRUG DEPENDENTS DOING SERVICE

January 23, 2009

The Rising Phoenix Foundation is a Non-Government Organization duly accredited by the Department of Health and dedicated to the treatment and rehabilitation of substance abusers and other dependencies. It was founded on December 2003, by a group of recovering dependents and professionals who have worked in different rehabs for many years.

One of the components of the program is its continuing care. As such, the Rising Phoenix Aftercare Group initiated on May of 2008 a Feeding Program for the less fortunate children of Tagaytay City. From the first 50 children that attended in a small barangay hall, it culminated its 4th feeding program with a gift giving on December of 2008 in the gym of Mater Dei Academy with 300 children and in cooperation with the Sisters Handmaid of Charity, the Rising Phoenix Family Association Meeting, DSWD and benefactors.

With the success of the foundation’s feeding program, it expects to undertake more feeding projects in 2009, allowing its residents to give back to society and bring smiles to the faces of the less fortunate children thus making the recovery process meaningful. Definitely the program not only feeds the hungry of food but also the hearts and souls of those who participate in them.
