Program Includes E-Mail “Receive Notices” & Loyalty Website
Minneapolis, Minn., - The more you send the more you save! That’s the benefit of the hot new loyalty program, MoneyGram RewardsSM that MoneyGram rolled out to U.S. customers in 2008. The new program delivers discounts up to 10% for the most frequent users of MoneyGram’s money transfer service and e-mail “Receive Notices” when money transfers are picked up.
“MoneyGram Rewards is designed to give customers what they want,” said Ann Jackson, MoneyGram’s vice president of market development. “We talked with literally hundreds of customers around the globe, and time after time they told us they wanted savings on sending money rather than prizes and points to redeem.”
So starting with the third transaction in a calendar year, MoneyGram Rewards customers will receive 5 percent discounts on transactions. Once a customer has sent six or more transactions in a calendar year, the discount jumps to a 10 percent discount on each transaction.
Part of the new MoneyGram Rewards program is a self-service website – www.mymoneygram.com – where customers can track discounts, manage personal information and register to receive e-mail “Receive Notices” whenever their money is picked up.
“Making sure their money gets to its destination is very important to our customers. We think the ‘Receive Notices’ may turn out to be as popular as the savings,” said Brent Carter, manager of MoneyGram’s loyalty program. “Our customers directly and clearly said this is a feature they want because the ‘send’ isn’t complete until they know the family has actually received the money.”
Another convenience, of course, is that the MoneyGram Rewards card speeds up the time it takes to send a transaction since a Rewards customer’s information is automatically displayed when they send money—they don’t have to fill out any forms. “I invite every customer in the U.S. who regularly sends money home to explore the new MoneyGram Rewards program,” said Jackson. “They’ll find it provides important choices and control, as well as savings and convenience.”
The MoneyGram Rewards program replaces the former MoneySaver program. Anyone enrolled in the earlier program is automatically enrolled in the new program and can continue to use their MoneySaver cards until receiving MoneyGram Rewards cards. To order a card or join the program, simply visit any MoneyGram agent location, visit www.mymoneygram.com or call 1-800-MoneyGram. There are no fees for joining the MoneyGram Rewards program.
“Our goal is to expand the MoneyGram Rewards program in the next year so our customers sending money from other countries can also enjoy the benefits and savings of this program,” said Carter.
