Pampering for men on Father’s Day

June 18, 2009

THE SIMPLEST things do bring a lot of joy. Paolo is a good father. He makes everything special for me and our child. In fact, every morning, watching Paolo interact with our son, Benito, reminds me how blessed I am to have three exceptional fathers in my life—my father Lito, my father-in-law Alex, and Paolo, the father of my son.

Here are other women testifying to the quiet greatness of their husbands as fathers—and how they plan to pamper them on this special day.

Margot Garcia: Rene is a great dad because time with his kids is always “quality time.” His hugs are abundant and he never fails to tell the kids he loves them.

With regard to skin products, Rene is really not the type to fuss. The most he would put on his face is sunblock. His favorite cologne is Royale Ambree.

Vicki de Leon: Caloy is a good father to Enzo because he spends quality one-on-one time with him. He stimulates his imagination by making videos with him; enhances his mind with music appreciation; and improves his motor skills by teaching him how to build Legos and maneuver the Playstation joystick and steering wheel—not an easy feat!

Most of all, I know Enzo is always in his heart and thoughts. For Father’s Day, I would like to give him Clinique Skin Supplies for Men Face Scrub and M-Shave Aloe Gel to make his face even more kissable!

Romina Gonzalez: Monchu was meant to be a dad. Carmen adores him as much as he adores her. With those same round intense eyes, perfect lips and fuzzy eyebrows, they are perfect halves of each other. I love how she climbs all over him. They swim for endless hours and make each other laugh out loud. I relish when I catch both of them in deep conversation about even the silliest things, and when Carmen runs full throttle every time she sees him walk through the door. I love how I could leave Carmen, even as an infant, with him all day, and come home to them fast asleep. Most of all, I am grateful that I am married to a man who is so present in my daughter’s life, putting Carmen and me, “his girls,” above all else.

Monchu worries about many things, so I want him to forget all the stress and spend the day at home getting a hair treatment, foot spa and full body massage from Massage R’ Us.

Dimples La’O: Cookie is a great dad. From the day the kids were born, he has been hands-on—changing diapers, night feeding, even potty training! Now that Joaquin is seven, they spend a lot of time playing sports, something they both enjoy. I guess it’s really about him being involved with everything in their lives.

If there was one thing I’d get Cooks for Father’s Day, it would be a Tea Tree Dry Scalp Shampoo. You could find it in Bangkok before, but not anymore. Also, a really good non-oily SPF 50 sunblock spray for his face, since he’s a professional golfer and is always under the sun.

Judith Berenguer-Testa: Juanjo is a great Dad because of the unconditional love and encouragement he provides Jacobo. He makes sure to spend lots of quality time with him. They love swimming and the outdoors, which is why he appreciates VMV Armada Sport 70.

Tina Cruz: Robert is such a selfless person. He always puts everybody's needs above his own. He finds happiness in making other people happy. I would give him VMV Hypoallergenics shaving cream and toner. I would stick to what I know works best for his sensitive skin.
