MANILA, Philippines — Police on Friday arrested a taxi driver who ran off with the belongings of a Filipino-American call center manager and recovered all the things of the victim.
Supt. Gerardo Ratuita, chief of the Quezon City Police District Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit, said the suspect, Nick Catarion, drove away with the belongings of Rosette Rosal, 34, of Makati City.
Rosal said she boarded the cab at around 6:22 p.m. on Wednesday along Buendia and asked the driver to bring her to Somerset condominium in Leveriza, Pasay City.
When they got there, Rosal said she told the driver to wait for a while as she would just have to pick up something. “But he sped away as soon as I got out of the vehicle,” she said.
Fortunately for Rosal, the cab’s plate number (TXP 444) was caught on the condo’s security camera. Police then traced the company which owns the taxi and got there the address of Catarion in Mayamot, Antipolo City where he was nabbed.
Police recovered from the driver the stolen items worth P10,000. Nancy Carvajal
