CEBU CITY – (UPDATE 2) A magnitude-3.6 quake rocked Cebu City and nearby areas in Metro Cebu Tuesday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.
Phivolcs Director Renato Solidum and Rolando Montañez, Phivolcs science research specialist in Mactan, said there was no report of damage since the quake, which occurred at 1:14 p.m., was just a “weak tremor.”
Montañez said the quake was felt mostly in downtown and uptown areas of Cebu City at Intensity three. It was also felt in Minglanilla town at Intensity 3 and in Mandaue City at Intensity 2.
The quake, whose origin was tectonic, was traced at 16 kilometers southwest of Cebu city and at a depth 5 kilometers, Solidum and Montañez said.
