Cokaliong Shipping capped its elimination round campaign with a 75-66 win over JV Shop N' Shop last Sunday to secure a twice-to-beat edge going into the semifinal round of the 2006 Winners' League basketball tournament.
Alex Yeo led the way for Cokaliong Shipping with 24 points, 12 rebounds and six assists, while Chester Cokaliong added 21, spiked by six triples.
Cokaliong Shipping, Global Carrier and Sherilin Plastics all ended the elimination round with identical 6-4 (win-loss) slates for a three-way tie at second place.
Owing to its superior quotient, Cokaliong pocketed the number two spot and the crucial twice-to-beat advantage.
The semifinal round will start on Friday with Cokaliong Shipping meeting No.3 seed Sherilin Plastics. Top seed Worldwide Steel faces No.4 Global Carrier.
In the other games, Global Carrier walloped Castle Peak Hotel (1-9), 81-50, while Sherilin Plastics stunned erstwhile unbeaten Worldwide Steel (9-1), 68-52.
