Donato-Dungca dominates Mizuno Scramble 5th leg Inquirer

SONNY DONATO and Omar Dungca combined for a 9-under-par 63 to top the fifth leg of the Mizuno Scramble Golf Classic hosted by the Royal Northwoods Golf and Country Club in San Ildefonso, Bulacan recently.
Donato and Dungca nipped Rodel Mangulabnan and Junie Fontanilla by a stroke for the Group I title and one of the three slots disputed for the grand finals.
The teams of Bernard Joson/Choi Min Sik and Song Ho-in/Choi Sung-min also earned tickets to the finals next year by topping their divisions.
The Mizuno Scramble Classic is organized by its local distributor Master Sports Corp.
Joson/Choi posted a 67, then nipped Lyn Mangulabnan and Boy Ungson in a countback for the Division II ticket while Song and Choi S.M. shot a 70 en route to a three-stroke victory over Elmer Ramos and Albert Reyes in Division III.
The Northwoods winners were the fifth batch of qualifiers for the finals next year at the Ayala Greenfield Estates course in Laguna where they will vie for an all-expense paid trip to Japan plus tickets to the Mizuno LPGA Classic.
