Traffic advisory

DRIVING in Pasig City? Try avoiding the corner of Pasig Boulevard and Sixto Avenue in the next few days. The Manila Water Company is currently connecting large water pipes in the area, resulting in heavy traffic since last week. “We were told that the project would be completed on Friday. In the meantime, we are asking motorists to look for other routes,” city excavation permit office head Carlota Cruz told the Inquirer. Edson C. Tandoc Jr.

IT training for PWDs

QUEZON City Councilor Bernadette Herrera-Dy is offering a 10-day training in computer literacy to persons with disabilities through the Bagong Henerasyon Foundation Inc. The program, which is ongoing, offers short courses on business application software, desktop publishing and web page design. PWDs and other residents from District 1 will be given priority although nonresidents can also apply. For more information, call 9225824, 9297748 and 3764306.

Reading workshops

THE PHILIPPINE Board on Books for Young People (PBBY) is inviting all parents, teachers, librarians and reading advocates to participate in two workshops at Powerbooks Greenbelt. The first, “Hooked on Books: 25 Ways to Promote Literacy at Home and In School,” will be held from 1-5 p.m. on Nov. 18.
