Revenue in retirement

July 11, 2006

Ernesto M. Ordoņez, PhD and Gen. Edgar B. Aglipay, director of the Philippine Retirement Authority, are putting up a world-class retirement agency - the Philippine Retirement Industry (PRI) that will enable Filipino caregivers to earn more in their own country. Small enterprises and large corporations are expected to deliver quality care-giving service that Filipinos are known for worldwide.

With 700 guests from the private and public sectors in attendance at the summit held last July 3 at the Shangri-La Makati, PRI announced its target - a foreign-retiree population of 900,000 in the next 10 years. This could generate four million jobs and $44 billion in foreign exchange, according to Ordoņez and Aglipay.

The PRI office is on the 29th floor of the Citybank bldg. in Makati.
